MMA EXPO

MMA Expo Toronto to Host NAGA Grappling Championships
TORONTO, ON – Mixed Martial Arts Expo – the Original MMA Fan Expo since 2005 ™ – is proud to announce that the upcoming Toronto Expo taking place December 3-4, 2011 will feature a NAGA Grappling Tournament. NAGA Toronto is expected to be the largest submission grappling tournament ever held in Canada.

“Without question, NAGA is the premier event for submission grappling competitors in North America and we are extremely pleased to host this world-class tournament at our Toronto show,” stated Gerald Chopik, president of Mixed Martial Arts Expo. “This is year seven for MMA Expo and the show gets bigger each year.  Interest in this tournament is already very high and we expect NAGA to draw well over 700 competitors from across Canada and the USA.”

NAGA President Kipp Kollar expressed: “NAGA is very excited to be a part of the MMA Expo and to hold our first grappling tournament in Canada.  We know the grappling and MMA scene in Canada is filled with talented and enthusiastic competitors.  Many Canadian grapplers have made the trek to the United States to compete in NAGA.  We cannot wait to bring NAGA to Toronto to give more Canadian grapplers a chance to compete in the World’s largest association of grapplers.”

NAGA Toronto will feature over 300 No-Gi and Gi grappling divisions with a division for everyone regardless of age, skill or weight.  NAGA will be awarding championship belts to all Expert Division winners. All non-expert youth and teen division winners will be awarded samurai swords.  This will be a two-day event with all youth, teens, and adults No-Gi divisions taking place on Saturday and all  youth, teens, and adults Gi divisions taking place on Sunday.
